Wraysbury, between the lakes and the Thames.
A historic village on the east bank of the river, midway between Windsor and Staines — water on every side, and some of the most distinctive riverside and island homes on our patch.
A village steeped in water and history
Wraysbury sits on the east bank of the Thames roughly midway between Windsor and Staines, its short High Street backed by a park, a playground and an extraordinary amount of water — the river on one side, lakes and reservoirs on the others, with walks and wildlife between. Magna Carta Island, one of the traditional candidates for the sealing of 1215, lies just offshore, and on the Ankerwycke estate stands a yew around two thousand years old, one of the fifty oldest trees in Britain.
The village fete each June — vintage cars, the scouts' tug-of-war, the school's ice creams — says a lot about the pace of the place. For buyers, Wraysbury means riverside gardens, moorings and island properties that rarely reach the open market; it's one of the areas where registering with us early matters most.
